What is the DFIs for Corporate Governance Project?

ADFIAP’s "DFIs for Corporate Governance" Project is the Association's response to the growing need of its member-development finance institutions (DFIs) in the Asia-Pacific region for the implementation of good corporate governance policies and practices in their respective institutions by learning from experiences of co-members as well as from those in other parts of the world.

The project is being supported by the Washington D. C.-based Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE).


Who are the main beneficiaries of the project?

The main beneficiaries are ADFIAP's 88 member-DFIs located in 37 countries spread across Asia and the Pacific region. Other similar development-minded financial institutions within the countries of these member-DFIs also benefit by being invited to participate in the various training events and other activities under the project.


What are the tangible outputs of the project?

IDF holds risk management-governance seminar in Manila
January 2008

The Asia-Pacific Institute of Development Finance (IDF), ADFIAP’s professional training and career development center, conducted the International Seminar-Workshop on Improving Risk Management and Financial Disclosure Systems under a Corporate Governance Framework from January 21-25, 2008 in Manila, Philippines. The seminar was attended by 22 participants from ADFIAP member-banks in Bhutan, Pakistan, India, Malaysia, Oman, Palau, Fiji, Samoa and the Philippines.
